The Art Nouveau buildings start with the Montecatini Terme railway station. From here, you will see a series of small villas with soft curves. Another remarkable building is the Teatro Casinò Kursaal, on Corso Roma, or the “Grand Hotel La Pace”, whose windows have been realized by Galileo Chini. Examples of Art Nouveau can also be found in “Svizzera Pesciatina”, a characteristic Tuscan area, that was named after the Swiss historian Sismondi. Those who are into trekking and mountain biking cannot miss the path running through the woods above Pescia.
It is good to bring sportswear, but also some elegant dresses for social and cultural events taking place in Montecatini, famous for its nightclubs. Padule del Fucecchio is a beautiful protected area not to be missed. For nature lovers, nature photography and birdwatching there is: ferns, floating water lilies and ancient plants that survived the last glaciations.
